This unit produces 137 horsepower and 162 lb.-ft. of torque, while the 2026 KONA’s standard 2.0L 4-cylinder engine has a bit less punch with up to 147 horsepower and 132 lb.-ft. of torque. Both of these models feature standard Automatic Stop-Start technology to reduce fuel consumption while you’re halted at a red light. However, you still might find yourself running low on fuel more frequently in the Hyundai model, since it only has a 12.4-gallon gas tank. The Trax’s standard 13.2-gallon tank makes it possible to travel far past the Oklahoma Railway Museum without stopping.

Safety

Staying away from harm is a top priority, and the 2026 Trax takes your protection very seriously. That’s why it offers a standard HD Rear Vision Camera² to show you the car’s surroundings in crystal-clear quality. The KONA has a camera, but the comparable Surround View Monitor³ is only available on higher trims. Moreover, the Chevy vehicle has access to standard OnStar® services⁴, which can make a major difference in an emergency situation. The KONA doesn’t offer such a perk.
